Viktor Khursik: "With the Poles, Magdalena Radziwill did not work out. Her position of firm and consistent Belarusization was perceived negatively by the nobility. Belarusian-speaking schoolchildren Belarusian-language church, Belarusian-language press - it was beyond reality, which year after year more and more showed the way of the Poles from the composition of Russia. The Polish Belarusian peasants-a single-palace farmer were scrolling around a paradise in the free Poland. In these conditions, the recognition of the princess in her Belorussianity and the desire to "obalarusit" others sounded a challenge. Newspapers vilified Magdalena, in 1919 the Poles openly warned of possible dangerous consequences for it. Soon the princess was badly beaten and, fearing for her life, left Warsaw for Koenigsberg. Over the past 26 years, she has never returned to Poland ... ".
The holiday turned out to be really Belarusian and folk - several hundred local and foreigners made their way to Zharnavka so that in good word, with singing, they could testify their respect for the memory of our worthy countrywoman.
