At the end of May, Alexander Sapega visited Radio Belarus and spoke about the planned activities of the Union of Belarusians in Switzerland and the activities of the Maria Magdalena Radziwill Foundation.
Now Belarusians in Switzerland are preparing to celebrate Midsummer in the best Belarusian traditions. The event brings together different nations, cultures, because Belarusians, Russians, Ukrainians, Swiss and Lithuanians come to it.
In the autumn it is planned to hold the day of the Belarusian writing, which will be held at the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus.
The Advisory Council at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, which includes Alexander Sapega, also meets annually.
This year, the Advisory Council has been appointed for the period when the European Games will be held, which will allow Belarusian athletes to come and support them. Belarusians abroad are now engaged in active advertising in countries where they live, in order to attract the attention of foreign guests, for whom visa-free travel is in force in Belarus. The Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Bern deals with informing the Swiss about the rules for staying in the country.
At the Consultative Council, one of the questions the participants will consider the law on Belarusians abroad.
The Maria Magdalene Radziwill Foundation, which also heads Alexander Sapega, organizes charity projects and supports culture.
The Foundation directs its efforts to work in Belarus: not for Belarusians abroad, but directly for the Belarusians themselves.
This year we held a number of events.
Project Kids Fashion Zone. When children with diseases had the opportunity to wear beautiful clothes and walk down the runway and thus join the fashion of Belarus. The project aims to draw attention to the problems of sick children in Belarus.
Inclusive floristic workshops are also organized. Master classes are held together with children who have limitations. Such events attract a lot of interest from both parents and activists who help.
With a famous star in Belarus, Vladimir Pugach, a small concert is planned for children in boarding school.
July 8 is the birthday of Maria Magdalena Radziwill. On June 29, a solemn evening of remembrance will be held in the Minsk Church of St. Roch on Zolotaya Gorka, where the patron’s ashes now rest. A festive mass will be held. Organ music is planned, reading poems by Maxim Bagdanovich.
