One of the creators of the Virtual Museum of Soviet repression in Belarus Valery Chernomortsev says: "Kurapaty made to the Cultural heritage of Belarus and have the status of historical and cultural value of the first category, that is, a international importance. The name "Kurapaty" is widely considered the Belarusian and world community synonymous with Stalin's repressions in Belarus. According to various estimates, in this place innocently killed and buried 30 to 250 thousand victims.

Unfortunately, in 30 years in Belarus and has not had the proper attitude to this place. Unlike of Butovo site and Katyn in Russia, Bykivnia in Ukraine and other similar places in Kurapaty is still no official memorial, there is only the people's memorial "forest of crosses." Most of Minsk residents are not aware of Kurapaty, often there is vandalism occur in general Belarusians. And in early June near the site of mass executions just opened a restaurant and entertainment complex "Let's go, let's go" for 50 meters, which was built in 2012 as a "Bulbash Hall."

Kurapaty is often called Belarusian Golgotha. And in Christianity Calvary - it is a symbol not only of Death and Resurrection of Christ, and Kurapaty - not only the memory of Stalin's repressions, suffering and death of our uncles and grandparents, but also a symbol of the Resurrection of our nation, the desire for truth and freedom in the late 1980s and early - 1990s, which resulted in was proclaimed the independence of the Republic of Belarus ".
